Michelle Laborde has leveraged her extensive international industry experience and innovative management strategies to transform Mount Pleasant Veterinary Hospital (Jalan Gelenggang). As a practice manager, Michelle has not only revolutionized the clinic's operations but also established herself as a wellness champion.

Comprehensive Wellness Programs: Michelle introduced holistic wellness programs that include company-based facilities such as mental health resources but, more importantly, she has developed a listening skill with all staff members with whom she checks in with every morning. These programs have helped reduce stress and improve the overall well-being of the staff.

2. Flexible Work Arrangements:  To promote work-life balance, Michelle implemented flexible scheduling options and is developing remote work opportunities where feasible. This flexibility has resulted in higher job satisfaction and retention rates.

Dr Giana Gomes is an RTT therapist, a certified compassion fatigue professional, and a student of Master of Guidance and Counselling She is the founder of Trueselfhealing online, where she empowers the veterinary care community dealing with burnout and emotional fatigue, among many other issues caused by the stresses of our modern world.

By sharing her own experiences with burnout and emotional fatigue, Dr Giana Gomes believes she can encourage animal care professionals to have more compassion towards themselves, so they can continue helping animals with excellence and kindness.
